Another Dr. is born!
Sjon successfully defended his thesis this week. And he was exceptional and totally deserving of the cum laude (!) that was conferred on him. A thesis defence is always a happy occasion and the culmination of a 4+ year process where you watch with pride as young scientists grow and mature. Sjon will be around for a few more months finishing up some last experiments and manuscripts. Here's a few snapshots from the big day.
